pjssully
To make a long story short, the government plans that I was planning on using with three of my high schoolers is no longer going to work so.....I am splitting them up and one group of two will be doing World Geography as they will be 9th graders. I am looking for something that is very simple, planned, and easy for me to manage as I deal with chronic pain. Is there anything like that?? I don't even know where to begin looking and it is so late already! Any suggestions greatly appreciated! pj
Mike in SA
We're using TTUISD's online program. Seems to work fine...

Pistachio mom
A few days ago, a recent discussion about this came up. It might be worth reading through those ideas in addition to the above option. I posted a few links that might be worth exploring. http://forums.welltrainedmind.com/topic/621637-advice-on-putting-together-my-own-high-school-geography-curriculum/
TKDmom
What do those initials stand for? Looks like Texas Tech Independent Study Department https://www.depts.ttu.edu/ttuisd/high_school.php

Mike in SA
Looks like Texas Tech Independent Study Department https://www.depts.ttu.edu/ttuisd/high_school.php Yes, that's it. It's an accredited distance learning program, but it is rather no-frills. It uses Moodle, assigns projects, provides grading, but offers little in the way of teacher support. Thing is, Geography doesn't need much support.
ondreeuh
Oak Meadow has a textbook-based World Geography course that has a TM available. It recommends a heavy-duty project every single week but I don't think most people do quite that much! I bought the updated Glencoe World Geography and Cultures text and the teacher resource CD which has the digital TM as well as supplemental materials like tests, recipes, maps, etc. It wasn't easy to find, but much cheaper than an online course. Pistachio mom
This website came up when I was doing a search for another discussion. It appears to be a free independent study program that looks high school/college level. It combines iTunes U lectures, a textbook, and online geo websites into one course. It might be worth exploring: https://legacy.saylor.org/geog101/Intro/
Mike in SA
We have an interesting experiment running this year. DS14 is taking Pre-AP Geography at the local high school. DS9 is taking Geography through TTUISD online. The content so far has been almost identical, to the point of being comical.
