lewelma
Thanks Ruth for sharing this journey. I've been eagerly following day by day. I have a weird proud mama feeling just reading about your son's experiences and achievements. I can't imagine how you must be feeling! Please let him know that he's had people all over the world following his experience and cheering him on. :001_smile: You are so sweet. Thanks to everyone for taking this journey with me. :001_wub: Right now I am pretty overwhelmed with emotions, I can only imagine how he is feeling. I will have him read all these well wishes and congratulations. My main concern now is burn out. We are in the middle of the school year. His *first* university class started on Monday, so he is already a week behind. And we have 6 weeks until midterms! I'm going to have to help him figure out how to recover while still keeping up. There is another boy on the team that is pretty worried about how much he has to do when he gets back. Just bad luck for the Southern Hemisphere kids!! pinewarbler
lewelma... just wanted you know that I've been THRILLED to hear about your son's journey and so happy that you shared it. I told my DD13 about it, and she is very intrigued by the process. I think it might influence her to join the math club in high school this year. She has always had A's in math, but is visual-spatial so learns differently than the way it is taught. As a result, thinks she could never join a math club, and is annoyed when she can't get a math contest question. I love that you are showing how hard it is and how perseverance is the watchword...
