CookIslandsMommy
I have a question to BJU Users: We use Science with BJU & I noticed at the 3rd and 4th grade levels the tests consists mainly of multiple choice, True and False & 2 very short answers. I then tried to look at other samples through christianbook.com websites to see if they tests get more difficult as the grades progress - but this has not given me a fair indication. Do the "short answer" sections get longer as the student progresses through grades? Or will they always be going multi-choice or true and false? How have you found the level of the assessment or testing? Thank you Sherid
PeterPan
What you're not seeing from those online samples is the amount of *synthesis* required to answer the multiple choice and T/F questions. As you go up the grade levels, the difficulty of the multiple choice questions increases. You'll have written response questions in later grades. It's all built up very sequentially. Loesje22000
Dd uses BJU since grade 2, so you would expect she would be used to the testsytem. although BJU Lifescience still has many multiple choice and T/F questions dd failed several tests last year. You can't make them 'just from memory' or after 'reading twice'. You will have to study it.
FriedClams
We've used BJU science for 6,7 & 8th grades. It definitely gets harder every year, and getting an A takes work. The nuance of questions increases a lot with every level. My kids are good students and they study (I actually review with them) before each test.
