Scripture Adventures - Give Thanks unit

I was looking for a Thanksgiving unit with a focus on {Biblical} thankfulness, when I stumbled across a website called Scripture Adventures.  I ended up buying the Give Thanks download -- and I am pretty pleased with what I've seen!

There is way more in the download than our family can use in the course of the month (well also be doing the Magic Treehouse Thanksgiving book & fact tracker + a lapbook).

The download includes:  history info pages, copywork from poems and hymns, crafts, and recipes.  For less than $7, I was pleased to pick & choose the items I needed/wanted.  (For example, I wasn't terribly interested in the crafts/recipes -- but I loved several of the copywork/poem/hymn suggestions, and we'll use a mini-book and some printable paper dolls that were included.)

Anyway, since I've never seen this site mentioned on the boards, I figured I'd throw it out there for those who may be looking for a similar theme unit for next month.  There seems to be a Bible curriculum on the site, as well as a Christmas and Easter study.

FYI: I have absolutely no connection with the site -- I found it through a google search; I paid with paypal and have had no issues with it thus far.  Download was immediate and complete.

Thanks for sharing! Where did you find the Magic Treehouse Thanksgiving lap book?

Currclick!  It's quite decent for the price -- and the activities are grouped by chapter, so they're easy to organize/plan.

I also ended up buying the History Pockets: Life in Plymouth Colony.  I'll probably use it lapbook style when we read the MTH Fact Tracker book.

In addition to all the above I've planned the following each week:

  • one totally UNeducational craft (handprint turkeys, etc) just for kicks ;)
  • one recipe to make together (miniature pumpkin pies...)
  • a short Bible passage to memorize over the course of the month (Psalm 118:28-29)

We're all excited about our Nov. plans!

I love all of your ideas!!  Thanks for sharing the link!  It does look like a great unit as does the Christmas and Easter one.  I love how the units cover what other countries do to celebrate!!  Have a blessed Thanksgiving!

Thanks!

I was mainly surprised that I'd never seen the site before -- sometimes it seems like I've seen or read (here) about every program under the sun, LOL.

For Christmas (I've been on a planning frenzy this week :D), I ended up using many of the ideas that are listed at Hubbard's Cupboard.   We'll probably use the Scripture Adventures Christmas stuff next year...
