ChildofGrace
I have been searching for the inexpensive Chalkdust/Dana Mosely PreCalculus DVDs and Textbook on Amazon and am now a bit confused. I notice that the ISBN's which have so graciously been provided on previous threads are for DVDs to accompany the 7th edition, while the Chalkdust site states usage of the 3rd edition Larson text. What am I missing here? Will I be getting essentially the same material by purchasing the 7th edition DVDs/Text through Amazon as I would from Chalkdusts' 3rd edition set? My original plan didn't include Chalkdust at all~~it is simply out of my price range. But if I can get the same benefit from purchasing through Amazon as from CD, I'd love it. Thanks for any clarification!
NicksMama-Zack's Mama Too
Ignore this post if you are looking for Precal. I'm an idiot. Please read if you are looking for Algebra I and 2 !!! The textbook and solutions manual are 4th edition, copyright 2005. The DVD set (13 disks, 52 hours of instruction by Dana Mosely) refer to the 4th editions of Elementary Algebra Intermediate Algebra Elementary and Intermediate Algebra I've previewed the 1st DVD and the menu lets you select which text you are using. The lessons are aligned with the textbooks. I bought them all via Amazon sellers. Here are the links DVD set (I purchased from seller named ODDESSEY) $31 plus shipping http://www.amazon.com/gp/product/0618753966/ref=ox_ya_oh_product Text (I bought the combined edition from seller BetterworldBooks) $2.82 plus shipping http://www.amazon.com/gp/product/0618388362/ref=ox_ya_oh_product Solutions Manual (I bought from CargoLargo) $3 plus shipping http://www.amazon.com/gp/product/0618388389/ref=ox_ya_oh_product FWIW, the DVDs say "Produced by Chalk Dust" during the video... So for less than $50 I have Algebra I & 2 (I believe the combined in both)!! hth, Kim Edited July 16, 2009 by NicksMama-Zack's Mama Too I need to learn how to read again..... Martha in GA
The DVD set that I ordered using the ISBN's given were for the 4th edition: 0-618-39487-7 (10 digit) or 978-0618394876 (13 digit). I have the 3rd edition book and the 5th edition book. The 4th edition DVD's don't match up perfectly with the 3rd edition book (slight change in the beginning chapter and again in Ch. 7 and 8). I think they will work just fine with the 3rd edition book though, if that is what you have. The 4th edition DVD's line up almost exactly with the 5th edition book. I spent a lot of time looking for my DVD's. I wasn't always sure if what was being sold was what I was looking for. I e-mailed questions to many of the suppliers, and none of them responded! It was very frustrating. Finally, I just ordered from a place that had a 30 day guarantee, and it turned out it was the right product. I was definitely doing the happy dance! Good luck. Mommyfaithe
Kim, Thank You so much for this info...this is just what i wanted for my Ds next year. I want to go through Algebra 1 & 2 together after completing TT Algebra 1 & 2 as a way to go deeper and have a more thorough Algebra understanding before tackling Pre-Calc/ Calc etc. One question though.... Are the DVD's for the Elementary and Intermediate book or do I need to purchase DVD's for the Intermediate part as well...and if so, do you have the ISBN or a link to those?? Thanks again! I just ordered this ser for under $50 with shipping! I hope it works for us. ~~Faithe

You don't need any other DVDs. Be patient with the DVDs, they were the last thing to come in the mail. The seller never contacted me when he shipped, so I was sweating it out! hth K
