Julpost
There are about 8 eggs in one box out in the coop. We're hoping that one of the chickens will set them. Any advice on how to encourage this? Thanks!
Katrina
No clue, but I've just started raising chickens myself and here's an excellent forum for this: www.backyardchickens.com There is a ton of information on that site. So if you don't get the answers you need here, you might want to check it out. Good luck! :)
Julie in CA
Gosh, it's been a long time since I've had chickens {probably 25 years!}. I don't remember that we ever had to try to get the hens to set. They just knew when the eggs were good and took care of the ones they should. Have you seen any evidence that leads you to believe the eggs are fertile? Either way, I think it's probably too late for that batch of eggs if they've been sitting unattended. Of course, this is all just my guess from my childhood flock, so ymmv! :D
