happygrrl
I have been having a surprisingly hard time finding my local public school's curriculum scope/sequence/standards. I found this website, and thought others might find is useful as well. State Standards I haven't checked out all the links, but the ones for my state were great. Lori D.
Thanks very much for this! "Social Studies" is so especially vague, this was very helpful for me to get a feel for what is generally covered in my state under that heading! Warmest regards, Lori D. bigdogs29906
Nice link. Thanks! Around here, in my neck of SC, our library carries the state/district policies/scope/sequence. You have to ask for it, and in my case it is in the kid room. But maybe someone else might have luck looking there.
elise1mds
The links for my state are accurate. I'm printing them off to make sure that, eventually, everything gets covered, but they don't seem very stringent.
happygrrl
"Social Studies" is so especially vague, this was very helpful for me to get a feel for what is generally covered in my state under that heading! My experience as well!:) Wow, my expectations as a classical educator are just on a whole different track than the ps S&S standards. Interesting, but I sure am glad I don't have to follow their way of education. My state has an awful lot of fancy sounding education-speak that means nothing. It's like a whole different language! I agree wholeheartedly. Recently, however, I have had many people concerned that I might be missing something (my MIL, for example;)) and it is nice to reply that I have the standards printed out and all the appropriate boxes are checked... that is all she really wants to hear!
