razorbackmama
Would a 7th grader be able to do this independently?
hsmom
Possibly. If you have a pretty motivated 7th grader.
motherdear
Yes,I would agree with the other poster who said she must be a motivated child; and advanced as well. Sonlight tends to be a more advanced curriculum. If she's an avid reader, she could probably read the read aloud to herself, but that would take some of the fun out of the read alouds. My kids have fond memories of mom reading stories even at older ages. I hope you don't take that away from her.
razorbackmama
Well, I would be reading aloud to him for other things, but due to having 4 other kids to school (all younger), I was needing him to do it independently. He's doing Apologia Zoology 2 on his own this year. I had originally planned to have him do Apoogia General Science next year, but I'm rethinking that. I thought maybe SL Science 6 would be a good alternative, but maybe not. Thanks for the info!
