Chelle in MO
I wanted to make a Bisquick cheeseburger casserole for dinner tonight, but I don't have any Bisquick! It is just 2 C Bisquick and 3/4 C water mixed together. How do I make that crust homemade? Thanks in advance for any help! Chelle

joannqn
I make homemade bisquick and store it in an airtight container for when I need it. It can be used same as the boxed stuff in any recipe that calls for it. 4 cups flour 2 Tbl baking powder 2 tsp salt Sift together. Add 1 cup shortening. Mix until it has a crumble texture. I use my food processor to make it easily. You can also use a pastry cutter to mix in the shortening. ETA: There are many different recipes online. I use this one because it has the fewest ingredients, making it less expensive, and I always have them on hand. I use the mix for bisquick pancakes, waffles, biscuits, and strawberry shortcake. Works perfectly in all of them even without the powdered milk, eggs, or sugar that some recipes call for.
