Nestof3
Wow. I thought Emma Thompson did a great job, and wow, what a sad movie. I particularly liked the John Donne poetry references. It reminded me of being in college. ;)
Crissy
I have read the play and watched the film production a number of times. It is sad and beautiful. Emma Thompson was incredible. I would love to see the theater production.
bkpan
I too found the movie, and Emma Thompson, wonderful. The story was haunting.
Nestof3
I tried to get my hubby to watch it tonight (I watched it while on my bike -- yeah, it was hard peddling and bawling at the same time). 15 minutes into it he turned it off saying he couldn't understand a word they were saying. I was bummed as I wanted to share my experience with someone. :tongue_smilie:
Tutor
That has one of my absolute favorite scenes ever in a movie: "What's so-por-if-ic?" That is the point in the movie where I begin to really lose it (and I don't think it's that far in).

Something about that scene made me want to be the little girl again with new beginnings and possibilities -- to be someone's little girl again, adored.
