1cat2ferrets
talking about the missing 5yo girl, Haleigh Cummings, down in Florida! She was snatched from her bed on 2/9/09 and no one's seen her since. I find it extremely weird that there's no sign of her whatsoever. The dad just married his 17yo girlfriend after only a 3 day engagement, etc... I'm just curious if anyone else out there has been following this case and what your opinions are. The other case I'm following is the Casey Anthony one where the mother "allegedly" murdered her beautiful 2yo daughter, Caylee. This world is getting too scary for me. Little kids are no longer safe! HRAAB
I just saw this today for the first time. An article about his marriage to his 17 yr. old girl friend, in fulfill Haleigh's wish? I'm sure it's been on the news, but I missed it until today. These things leave me speechless. Janet

The world has ALWAYS been an unsafe and scary place especialy for children. It has been because of the media that we see it more. It is also due to the fact that we have only recently had laws protecting children from abuse. Before th last two centuries parents could do what ever they wanted to do with their children and unless they were murdered very little could be done about it. But if you were to look at how past civilizations reared children ... especialy the Spartans in Greece ... it was quite common for a child to be abused. It has actually become less common because we tolerate it less and because we tolerate it less we know about it more.
Nestof3
Truthfully, it seems like there's a new one every month, and I just get tired of it. Maybe I'll stop reading the news. ugh
