Tess in the Burbs
My dd is 5 1/2 years old. Tonight at Awana's was "store" night where they get to 'buy' toys for themselves with shares they earn by attending each week. she comes home with a bag FULL of stuff. a necklace for me. pants for daddy. toy car for her brother. gloves for me. nothing for her. I cried. She was so thoughtful and selfless tonight! Moments like this make me think she's seeing us/hearing us teaching good values. :-) I am taking her tomorrow to get a little something for her, she deserves it! :D *beaming mom*
Cindyg
Awwww...that is REALLY sweet! I often work the Awana store at our church. It is just so much junk. All the same toys the kids have been given and have been buying since they were babies. Nothing that's going to last more than 6 minutes. Your daughter was so wise to skip this junk and buy gifts for others.
