fj62
Wondering if I should have 14 yo ds take it to get a feel for it. Is there a limit? Do they record only your highest score?
Dawn E
If you don't get the answer here, I would also ask at the high school board. I do believe that there is a pre-ACT test available for just the purpose you described.
Dawn E
Here's a link to the test I was thinking of. It's called the Plan. I don't know how you would have access to it as a homeschooler, but this site has some sample questions that might be helpful working through with him. athena1277
You can take the ACT as many times as you want. Colleges look at your highest overall score. When I worked in admissions at a smallish private university, we did not even record the individual scores. Many students take the test more than once. I took it 3 times in high school. HTH! kiana
You can probably also (more cheaply) get a test prep book, work through a practice test under exam conditions and score it yourself. I'd recommend that before trying it anyway, just to give a feel for how it works.
Susan in IL
When ds was looking at colleges, they all told him to keep taking it. They superscored for admissions so it was helpful for him to do it. They took the highest composite for scholarships.
Mary in VA
With the ACT you can specify the date of the scores you want sent. With the SAT they send in all the scores. So I'd think you can take the ACT as many times as you want. Mary
