buddhabelly
We are studying Elementary Greek (Year One) and I have a question for anyone who is familiar with the audio CD that comes with this program. We are on Chapter 16 and 17 and the paradigm for first declension nouns on the CD does not seem to match the text. I am speaking here only of nouns with more than two syllables. In the text, the accented syllable is different depending on the case. We memorized these changes in emphasis, as well as memorizing the endings. Then we went to listen to the CD, and he accents all the forms of the noun (all the cases) on the second syllable. Help? Is anyone familiar with this program that really knows their Koine? Thanks so much. ETA: My subject line is awkward, sorry. I didn't have room to write "or someone knowledgeable about Koine Greek!" buddhabelly
Bump. I suppose I should ask the folks at Elementary Greek, huh. That's what you're going to tell me, isn't it? Fine, be that way. :glare: There aren't a lot of 1st Century Greeks around to correct me, I know. Julie
Plaid Dad
Yup, that's what I'm going to tell you. I don't have a copy of the book and CD on hand to check, and if one or the other is wrong, I'm sure the publisher would want to know. :)
buddhabelly
I know you're busy. I know I try to use this forum for "one stop" information shopping! Thanks, Julie (who is fantasizing about a classical high school opening in her town....)
