KJB
Anyone know of super heroes from other countries? My dd is writing a story where heros from countries all over the world form a world council of super heroes in order to defend the Earth (sort of like a multi-cultural Justice League). She'd like to know about super heroes popular in other countries. She currently has popular heroes from the US, Germany, and Japan. Anyone know of any from any place else that might be willing to be called upon to save the Earth? :D We're off to google. Any help would be greatly appreciated! Blessedfamily
KJB This might not help with her story, (actually she could incorporate it) but does your dd know the symbolism behind Godzilla? You know, that it represents US after WWII? I used to love Godzilla movies as a kid. When I first learned of what it represented, I was fascinated. The only articles I could find about it were long, maybe too long depending on her age. http://www.historyvortex.org/GodzillaSymbolism.html Sorry I don't know any superheroes from other nations. Sounds like a great idea for a story.
KJB
My dd is 12 and she is actually intending to write a novel. She's about 8 chapters in and needs some new characters to help move the plot along. It's a great little story so far. The Godzilla idea is interesting! Thanks for bringing him up! I'll share the back story with her and who knows where it will go.... Thanks for the help!
Hillary in KS
Well, the title of "Superhero" may be somewhat dubious, but I've always been partial to Batmanuel. Batmanuel Wiki

KJB
and Cap'n Underpants, and there's no Underdog in her story either. Not all super heroes are created equal. LOL Thanks for the laugh! :D
dawn of ns
The Black Panther is a hero and King from the fictional African nation of Wakanda. Captain Canuck was a Canadian super hero and Marvel comics also had Vindicator and Guardian wearing a Maple Leaf. Captain Britain is from, uh, Britain. From the XMen, Storm is from Kenya, Wolverine is from Canada, Sunfire is Japanese. The Black Widow and Darkstar are Russian. Dust is a superhero from Afganistan. All of the above, except Captain Canuck, are from Marvel Comics. That should be a good start anyway. And yes, I do still have stacks and stacks of comic books tucked away. How did you know? :D
