eaglei
Someone just forwarded to me the following recipe, complete with four photos of the cake in-progress. (Sorry - the pics didn't copy here). Has anyone tried this? Is it for real? Is it GOOD?! Begin forwarded message: > Subject: Yummmm.......5 min. cake! > > Most dangerous cake recipe in the world > 5 MINUTE CHOCOLATE MUG CAKE > > 4 tablespoons flour > 4 tablespoons sugar > 2 tablespoons cocoa > 1 egg > 3 tablespoons milk > 3 tablespoons oil > 3 tablespoons chocolate chips (optional) > A small splash of vanilla extract > 1 large microwave safe coffee mug > > Add dry ingredients to mug, and mix well. Add the egg and mix > thoroughly.Pour in the milk and oil and mix well. Add the chocolate > chips (if using) and vanilla extract, and mix again. > > Put your mug in the microwave and cook for 3 minutes at 1000 watts. > The cake will rise over the top of the mug, but don't be alarmed! > Allow to cool a little, and tip out onto a plate if desired. > EAT! abbeyej
I haven't done that one, but years ago I did know how to make nearly instant brownies in the microwave. I really don't remember exactly how I did it, but I know I made it pretty often while I was pregnant with dd. ;) I don't think mine had an egg, but I wouldn't swear to that. Anyway, I'm betting this works. Three minutes in the microwave sounds like an awfully long time to me... I think mine "baked" in much less time. But I haven't had a microwave in over 6 years, so it's been quite a while since I did this.
cjzimmer1
I made this last year when it was posted here. It's only an okay cake. It came out really gummy. If I was totally desperate for chocolate it would work but since I always have chocolate chips on hand and they taste far better, it's highly unlikely I will ever be that desperate that I need to make it again.
