ChalkDust Geometry: what is the difference between "Traditional" and "New"?

Is one better than the other for an average kid who isn't stellar at math, though he certainly doesn't struggle with it?

 

ETA: It is obvious that the books are very different from the TOC that are listed on the CD website. I just can't imagine why - tho' Mr. Moseley did mention in the FAQ video that the approach to teaching Math has changed significantly in the last 15 years. I guess those "significant changes" show up in the "New" version?

....after much thought I figure that "Traditional" is VHS and "New" is the DVD.

 

Other than that I cannot pinpoint anything else.

 

If I am wrong, I would appreciate some clarification. This material is in my shopping list.

The difference is the textbook. Traditional has a more colorful text. We found some of the explanations in concepts lacking, but dd did not watch the DVD's attentively so some of this is her fault.

 

The new text is less colorful from what I've heard.

 

Both come with DVD's.

I guess I wonder why they offer the Traditional if the New is the preferred method? That just seems like one more choice I have to make in partial (and sometimes total!) ignorance. :glare:
