I use this along with the Paces and Destinos. http://www.learnalanguage.com/learn-spanish/ Destinos shows http://www.learner.org/resources/series75.html Destinos learning site and resources http://www.learner.org/series/destinos/ Hope these helps. 6. you have been a strong instrument to lift a very heavy load from over me, it was overwhelming. You will never know at what extend, but thanks a million for your caring and understanding advice. This give me strength to continue. May I give you all a:grouphug:? Thanks again.
  7. How practical is to have the labs done "after" complited the Chemistry course. I bought (this past year) the D.I.V.E. Chemistry and not knowing about any difference, we finished it without doing any actual labs. I did look into the CD and I did not find any files indicating labs nor videos. Too late, I inquire from the producer of this product about it and he implied that I order the wrong CD, which is not so according to my email communication with the school I bought from and the receipt. So, all this to say that she has Chemistry without labs with a lab kit sitting here to be used. Should I buy another Chemistry DIVE CD with the labs and do the labs? My plans were not to have Physics with lab. What would you do? Thanks in advance with your help.
  8. Hello again, Teachin'Mine....thanks for the "re-doing" idea, I will implement it ASAP.:D Karenciavo...thanks for the DIVE idea, I will check into that one.:001_smile: Thank you all for your replies. Have a wonderful day.
  9. Thanks you all for your replies.:001_smile: I have never seen Hewitt text book and she does not like Apologia, we tried Physical Science and Biology to no avail. I decided to continue with Saxon, regardless. In life we may encountered "detours" that we must take, but we cannot make detours on every challenge we faced...some need to be taken head on, no short-cuts. Here we go, petal to the metal :auto:. Thanks again all for your help. Have a wonderful day.

  11. I know you would send me to search the piles of info in the archives....I was there, that is why am here. Maybe you can answer... Can SAT be taken AFTER High School? If not, why not? My dd is not sure she want to attend college, but I am preparing her for it as if she would. He has trouble with Algebra and Science has been affected by it along with other inconviniences in our life like time.:blushing: I have been trying to find when is the next SAT test schedule, but so far on the SAT site there are only subject test schedule until June. When is the SAT administered through a year? Only once?:crying: Thanks in advance for your assistance, it is much appreciated.
  12. No one is willing to give me some thoughts? For real?:001_unsure:
  13. Due to circumstances out of our hands we had to begin our 11th grade on February 2010 and complete the year in Dec. and now she just turned 18 in Sept. Next January, if we are not moving again, her 12th (Senior) year will begin. She does not know what she wants to focus on and does not want to attend college per se. She want to "do" college on line. Not knowing what she wants, but knowing we need to have Physics, I decided not to invest in textbooks. I have: Exploring the World of Physics The Cartoon Guide to Physics Thinking Physics Great Ideas of Classical Physics from The Teaching Company Einstein's Relativity & the Quantum Revolution from the Teaching Co. also. In your opinion, Would these be enough for a non science student? Seeking your expertise advise on this little matter. Thanks in advance and Happy Thanksgiving!
  14. 1- How many things are in the problem? 2- What are the "is" sentences? 3- How we represent the things? 4- What is the system of equation we will use to solve the problem? Hope it helps.
  15. Perhaps you will tell me to go to the Highschool board, but I feel embarrazed asking about it. We just got back almost seven months ago from a ten years overseas duty, so I really do not know how to do the step in having my dd (the only one) take the SAT. I know I need to register on line at the College Board site, but then what? Where do I take her to take the test? I had high hopes that in this state (WA) we would have had the opportunity to meet other students, have groups, field trips, picnics, ....you name it...but I have not found a group yet. I signed up with two major homeschooling groups hoping that would help, but they are at a very long distance from me....and no, I have not found anyone in here that homeschools. So, what I need is how do I find where to take my dd to take the test? Does the College Board assigns a location for me to take her, is that it? You have my permission to laugh as long as you reply and answer, you can tell how "green" I am on this. At least, we only have one child. Thanks for your assistance and I apologize for rambling.
  16. Is this subject to deep for this forum? I apologize, I thought that maybe the science wise ones know something on this matter.:leaving:Sorry.
  17. Hello everyone, My dd had taken Physical Science and Integrated Chemistry and Physics and instead of Physics for her 12th grade she would like Astronomy. Well, she had read a lot about Astronomy, so I thought that perhaps to kick it up a notch I would consider Astrophysics. What are your thoughts about it? How do you recommend I go about this one? Do you think it would be effective? I would like it to last the entire year. If Astrophysics is not recommended as per your opinions, then How can I MIX Physics with Astronomy for her last science at home? Thanks in advance for your advice and time reading my post and thinking to help me out with your advice, ideas and suggestions.:bigear:
  18. Hello again. I have another question. Is there a "free" standardized test that I can use to see/monitor where my dd is right at this time? Annually, we use CAT-5, but I would like to test her mid-way of the year to catch any "gaps"? that could be developing or developed unawared. Do you have any suggestions? This is for a 17 year young girl on 11th grade. Thanks in advance.:001_smile:
