Shasta Mom
Well, I'll be the one dissenter here........I bought it for level 1 and rarely looked at it. HOwever, I used it with one child, so we skipped things like games, etc.....I also felt like I had a good handle on the grammar, so didn't need it for answers..... Sheila in OK
I'm using Level 2. I guess you *could* squeak by without the TM, but you would miss out on a lot. For example, sometimes you share info with the student about the author of the story and that is only in the TM. Also, there are the instructions for the games, etc. in there. Pink Fairy
We have it, but rarely use it. If you're on a tight budget, I'd say you could definitely do without it. If the money isn't a big issue, I think it's nice to have on hand.
TracyR
Yes. I definitley think you need it. You wouldn't get the full effect of the program without it. Unless you know how to teach using the progymnastmata approach.
