Tap
I have a big batch on the stove today and since I always make it the same, I figured I would see what every one else does, so I can mix it up next time. 2 5lb cans diced tomatoes (plus some sauce if I have some.) 2 green zuch 2 yellow squash 1.5 large onion or 2 small (1/2 yellow and 1/2 sweet) 1/2 cup each red, yellow, green pepper 1 cup chopped sweet carrots 4 stalks celery garlic fresh basil Italian seasonings (oregano, basil, thyme etc..) salt/pepper sprinkle of brown sugar This is a big batch but I make it and freeze it. What do you put in yours?
Doran
I make a "base" sauce every summer which I then freeze. The recipe comes from a cookbook created by a Sicilian woman. Garlic Red onion Olive oil Fresh tomatoes, skinned and seeded Salt Dash of sugar Fresh basil I can puree it, or add other items to it as desired, but generally, the only thing we add is some meat.
