Unicorn
Hello, though I have loved RightStart for many years, I am considering switching to Singapore Math Dimensions. RightStart was just taking too long -- up to two hours a day if we did warm-ups and played the games. Has anyone done this transition? When I looked at the placement tests it almost seemed like I needed to go from RightStart Level D down to Singapore Dimensions Level 2B since there were some topics covered in SM that were not yet covered in RS... HomeAgain
Singapore spirals like Right Start, teaching a little more in each topic each year. Why not just buy the more appropriate level slow down a bit when you get to those topics to teach them?
mirabillis
We did Rightstart A-E without too much of a hitch... then we switch to Singapore 4B, 5A, 5B (1 year) which helps cover some topics not overly present in RS. Singapore went pretty fast so you can cruise through these quickly if you're backtracking. One of my kids did 6A as well in this time and completed that in under a month.... Then my kids were ready for a Pre-Algebra program. We switched to Dolciani Pre-Algebra.
