Not a recent phenomenon, I'd say.

My MIL was the only other person I ever heard talk about this, about how she only used Clorox bleach because it got things whiter and women used to judge you based on how white your linens were as they hung on the lines. Crazy stuff lol.

I was afraid of my mother.  She was definitely a threat.  She lived out of state but there was one time I thought she was at my door and I literally hid inside my own home.  When I found out she had died, it was a big relief.  I didn't wish her any harm but I was constantly on edge wondering what she'd do next to hurt me.  (she was a narcissist and we were estranged)

I'm afraid of my BIL. He and my FIL are co dependent. We are estranged from them all. He has no one in his life except for his parents, never married, has no friends, etc. I live with a low key fear that they will pass away and he will show up at our door step with a gun. He was described as postal in a personalty study. Idk, I just fear that, but what do you do?
