alisoncooks
Finished with today’s food. Whew! I’m exhausted! But it’ll make things go more smoothly tomorrow. (All the messy things are done and just need to be reheated. Everything tomorrow is pretty easy…)
Eos
I did 4 pies yesterday early morning before the 8 hour drive. Apple, pumpkin, pecan, and huckleberry crumb. Dd and I picked the huckleberries this summer and saved them for today. Driving with pies wafting made it easier. I left them in the car overnight but I'm kind of worried they might have frozen, going out to rescue them right now. I made sure to bring whipping cream because whipped cream is pretty much the most important element of any meal. I also brought cranberry chutney, wild rice, mushroom, walnut pilaf, all the brussels sprouts we grew which means some are teeny tiny, applesauce, sweet potatoes and thyme from the garden, tomato chutney and cheese. Ds is cooking turkey, mashed, stuffing, gravy. Happy eating today to all! I am grateful for all we have.
