caffeineandbooks
Is there a film version of this Shakespeare play that is appropriate for fifth grade? I'm wanting something more to follow the Bruce Colville picture book. This will be a first dip into the Bard.
Farrar
Depends. I would have let my kids watch the '99 film version at that age, but there is some nudity and talk about sex. I'm just pretty lax about this stuff. I'm sure they've got a breakdown on Common Sense Media. The old BBC Shakespeare the Animated Tales version is decent, but it looks like it's one of the ones that's not easily available on Youtube, sadly - there's a version of it, but it's down in a corner. Alas.
Dianthus
Jim Weiss has a recording of it on one of his Shakespeare albums. My kids laugh hysterically at it.
FlyingSack
Sorry this isn't exactly what you're looking for, but I just wanted to add that we really liked this graphic novel version. I liked that the text boxes told you what was happening so it was easy to follow while still appreciating the language. https://bookoutlet.com/products/9781454939771B/a-midsummer-nights-dream-graphic-classics-vol-9
