LostintheCosmos
Does a book like this exist? What's your favorite resource for teaching math after the elementary grades?
EKS
Working well ahead of my students and then doing it again just ahead of them was the very best thing for my teaching. 3

I'm not "well ahead," but I do work ahead. I'm worried I'm just going to recapitulate my own secondary math experience - algorithmic competence and little conceptual understanding. 😕

Jacobs is great for Algebra 1 (and what I first used). I'd recommend Derek Owens for Algebra 2, precalculus, and calculus. Monica_in_Switzerland
I agree with everyone else. Work ahead of the student from a good text, like AOPS.
