Shoeless
Does anyone happen to know if there are major differences between the different editions of Joy Hakim's History of US? I can piece together a set of the original edition of the book for significantly less money than buying a more recent set. Any reason why I should stick with more recent editions compared to older ones? Thanks!
domestic_engineer
The newer editions have color pictures whereas the older ones, iirc, have black and white pictures. Also -- I think the newest edition has an additional book to cover the most recent time period. if audiobooks are utilized in your family, you may want to match up the physical edition with the version read on Audible, which I assume is the newest edition.
Shoeless
Thank you so much! I think we will go with the newer versions since they are in color. And yes, we do listen to audiobooks. Thanks for the tip!
Pintosrock
I have pieced together our set from library booksales. We have some second and some third editions, both are in color. Mixed editions doesn't seem to be any big deal. The story still flows from book to book. 1
Farrar
At one point, I had a bunch of copies of one volume (long story) in different editions. I didn't pick through it, but any changes were small enough that I couldn't really find them other than the color, the covers, etc.
