bluetooth headset recommendation?

Recommended Posts

I have a 5 year old Plantronics Explorer 505 bluetooth headset (see pic) that I really like, but if I am outside and there is a bird chirping, people tell me that it sounds like the bird is on my shoulder.  So, I am interested in buying a bluetooth headset that does a better job of muting the background noises.  My brother has a Plantronics Voyager Legend, and I like how it quiets the background noises, so I bought one, but maybe it was defective because it did not work properly.  For example, I could make a call or answer a call but often it would not come through the headset until I pressed the call button.  That was a pain if I made a call because if I pressed the call button before the person answered, it would disconnect, but I couldn't hear that the person answered unless I held the phone to my ear. It seemed to forget it was on or turn itself off (?) regularly.  I had to "reset the sensors" multiple times a day.  I returned it after a week.  Also, it was heavy on the ear and got caught in my hair all the time.  I'm skittish about trying another one.  Any recommendations for me?

Have you looked into earbuds that have the ability to connect to the phone?

If you have an iPhone, Air Pods are great! From the recieving end, I can't tell when my daughter is on her Airpods talking to me or her phone. There are different models out right now. My daughter's are the most recent Airpods and they run about $160 (not the Airpods Pro $250). You can absolutely connect Airpods to other devices, but they interface with Apple devices seamlessly.

If you like Samsung products, the Galaxy Pods have great reviews too. I am thinking about getting these this weekend. They are $109 at Costco in our area. They are $120 on Amazon.

I had Bose brand, but they had a very-slight sound delay when watching my laptop which I didn't like.
