caayenne
Hi Everyone, My DS17 will be starting college in the fall, but he will be living at home. I am looking for a book that either your son/daughter or you would specifically recommend for a young person just starting to make his way in the world. I am thinking that he would like something in the form of advice, things you need to know, etc. A lot of the books we have seen seem to focus on dorm life, which obviously does not apply to him. Thanks! Edited January 13, 2020 by caayenne
Lori D.
Maybe something like Life Skills 101 (Pestalozzi)? Or possibly several different books to cover different topics? For example a solid pragmatic book about: - personal finance and being smart with your money -- Why Didn't They Teach Me This In School: 99 Money Management Principals (Siegel) - how to do basic maintenance and home things -- The Useful Book: 201 Life Skills (Bowers) - basic cookbook -- Super Easy Cookbook For Beginners (Grant) - life choices -- 7 Habits of Highly Effective College Students (Covey) - giving inspiration -- The Last Lecture (Pausch); Make Your Bed: Little Things That Can Change Your Life - And Maybe the World (McRaven)
