lulalu
I already have FLL 2. So, I know I really should just use that. But we used CLE reading for 1st and I liked it a lot. It added in stuff that I wouldn't have thought of and was easy. So looking for 2nd next year. I like the thought of all LA in one book. But I already have FLL 2 and really loved FLL 1. So who has used both of these? Thoughts? Should I stick with what I already have?
pitterpatter
We started using CLE English in third grade, I believe, and have never looked back. Having said that, we do not complete the spelling and penmanship portions, only grammar.
Mooneyes
Which spelling curriculum do you use instead of CLE, and why?
Syllieann
We did CLE LA one year and I had mixed feelings about it. The 2nd grade level has phonics in it, which might be a bit off from what you are using it it's not the CLE program. I also found the spelling portion a little worthless. It was just "write the words from your list on a separate piece of paper" most days. The writing is probably enough if you are doing written narration in other subjects. If you aren't, I think it will be too light. I thought the grammar and related portions were excellent. Penmanship was fine but nothing to write home about.
