mathnerd
Hoping to get some responses in this forum: am looking for prep materials for next year's National Roman Culture Exam. https://www.njcl.org/Online-Exams/National-Roman-Civilization If any of you have tips, websites, recommended books for prep, I would be extremely grateful. My DS has taken the exam in the past after watching the Great Courses videos on Roman culture. I am wondering if any of your kids have taken this exam and what materials they used to study for it. Thanks.
LJPPKGFGSC
I think that this one, the first one listed on the NRCE book list .... A Handbook to Life in Ancient Rome (TMRC-B0461) by Adkins and Adkins (ISBN 0195123328) … might be the most accessible. It is interesting to read, not too academic.
mathnerd
Thanks @LJPPKGFGSC ! I found a used copy of it online and am going to get it to see how much information is available in it. I also found Mary Johnston's book "The Private Life of the Romans" online and it seems to be a good reference for learning about the daily roman life in case someone else is searching for this information: https://www.forumromanum.org/life/johnston.html
