But, the only brand I'm familiar with -- Heartgard -- requires a prescription. Are there ones you can get without a prescription, and which ones are they? (And are they as effective?) This is a 10-month old pup who lives in the city and has not been exposed to mosquitoes. (But he might be going to areas with mosquitoes and ticks so we do want to protect him now!)
