mrsfellman
Has anyone on this board used the Singapore Science Curriculum? Thoughts on it? Could it be something that a 1st grader could follow along with a 4th grader or would I need to do each one in their separate "levels"? I've currently been eyeing either Apologia or Dr. Dave's so we could just go by interest but someone I know threw Singapore out as another option. We use Singapore for our Math and are very happy with it. Edited December 28, 2018 by mrsfellman
Trilliumlady
I don’t have any personal experience with it but a friend uses it for her kids and apparently likes it enough to be using it for a second year. I’m pretty sure she has each kid in grade appropriate books, however. From what it sounds like, it seems like they do it pretty independently. I’d like to hear more thoughts on it too, though. Sarah0000
Have you looked at the samples on Rainbow Resource and Christian Book? I was considering it for my first grader and I was hovering between placing him in third or fourth based on topics covered and the workbook output. It's probably fine to read the books with both your fourth and first graders and just have the fourth grader do the workbook portion. Ultimately I decided a first grader didn't need another series of books when what we've been doing is working. We do interest led unit studies with BFSU as a spine and Daily Science as an independent output to cover the topics usually covered by grade level. Daily Science can be used alongside anything.
