mommy123
I'm using Saxon with my middle school kids, and it is a good fit for our family. I have two younger kids that will eventually use Saxon as well, but what do I use to prepare them in K-3? I've heard Saxon K-3 was written by a different person and not that great for elementary. I've been trying to use it this year, and I don't really love it. What have you used that is a good fit for moving into Saxon? Ellie
Rod and Staff Publishers. When your children finish Exploring Arithmetic (third), give them the Saxon placement test. If they don't test into Math 54, do Understanding Mathematics (fourth), then give the placement test again. They should test into at least 54, if not 65 (either one would be fine).
PeachyDoodle
We used Christian Light and had an easy transition into Saxon. Definitely use the placement test to make sure you start at the right level when you're ready to switch.
