Financial Aid Question

He should be able to take out the larger loans, but... I'd check with the school anyway if it's a top contender.  Schools sometimes up awards given special circumstances and the financial medical needs you've had are (could be) special circumstances.

Talk with an adult in the financial aid office, not admissions.

I'd merely say he wants to go to this school but we are unable to take out loans due to our medical bankruptcy.  Is there anything you can do?  Then I'd let them come up with a better offer or mention the higher loan amounts he should qualify for.
