NatYoung17
Hi! I'm wondering at what age my kids should start to learn typing on the computer? I have a 12 yo and 9 yo and they can type a little, but have never actually learned it properly with a program... Any recommendations? Thanks! Miss Tick
I'm a big fan of free, so I always recommend starting with the BBC's Dance, Mat Typing: http://www.bbc.co.uk/guides/z3c6tfr Edited July 10, 2017 by SusanC
nixpix5
Your kids are the perfect age to start. I think 9 yo is just about right. I second Dance Mat Typing or we also like Typing Instructor Platinum for Kids. It is fun :)

Jackie
Typing.com is free or a small fee if you want ad-free. It is boring but very effective and gets people up and running very quickly. Burning Cargo is free and so much fun that I played it through even though I already know how to type. It's slower in the learning, but super engaging, so kids may be more willing to stick with it for fun instead of because they're required to do so.
