Heather in Neverland
So I just found out today that I have to have this surgical procedure called cardiac ablation and...I am a little freaked out. Anyone been through this before?
Amy in NY
I used to be a cardiac nurse many years ago. Feel free to PM me w/any questions you think I might be able to answer.
Mom2legomaniacs
My dad has had this done twice. The whole procedure, while scary, was not bad regarding recovery and all. It does sound very scary. Any procedure is, especially when dealing with a major organ like the heart. :grouphug:
Jumping In Puddles
I need to have this too. I have Wolff-Parkinson-White. I have been putting it off because I'm a big chicken. :o
Penny from Tenny
Both my grandmother and my best friend's mom have had this done. Friend's mom just last Friday. She had atrial flutter and hot flash type symptoms. The Dr. was shocked she had not had a heart attack. All went well and she was at church Sunday and felt so much better. Praying all goes well! musicmommy
I have atrial fibrillation. (sp?) Last Thursday, I spent the afternoon in the ER trying to get my heart back into a normal sinus rhythm. Because the episodes keep getting longer and are harder to control and I can't take the meds designed for this, I'm meeting with my cardiologist on Wednesday to get the ball rolling on the ablation. I'm nervous about it, but also looking forward to the possibility of a complete cure. Sometimes, it can take more than one time for that to happen though. I'll know more on Wednesday. I agree though, I'm a bit nervous about having this done.
Heather in Neverland
Well, I am a big fat chicken too but I am glad to hear that it has went well for others. Medical technology is pretty amazing but the thought of them feeding a wire through my leg into my heart just seems really freaky!
