Momma4
Hi, we're planning to start SOTW this summer, volume 1 the ancients, so I know we'll cover some geography in that. Do you think Simply Charlotte Masons 'Visits To' series is enough geography for my 6.5 yr old? He's pretty good at geography already and can name many countries on the map. Is there anything else that may offer a more technical viewpoint on geography rather than the social/cultural aspects that the Visits To series covers? Starr
There is some map work in the Activity Guide for SOTW. My dc enjoyed working on them.
fralala
I think that's fine in terms of formal geography. If you're not doing it already, just practical geography (looking at maps of your neighborhood, drawing treasure hunt maps for each other using symbols and keys, talking about where you're going in terms of cardinal directions) is one of the things that you might be missing in those curricula (although I have not actually used "Visits to" so I may be wrong). Those are all fun with a 6 year old!
