angelmama1209
What are some spelling programs recommended for middle school? We tried R&S last year and my dd felt it was too much work and boring, we cried and pushed to finish the grade. She's now working through Painless Spelling and enjoying it. What comes next? She's a moderate speller- not terrible, but not completely natural. Thanks
Tenaj
Studied dictation did wonders for my sons who were challenged spellers. We use the public domain resource, Dictation Day By Day.
sdobis
What about Apples Spelling (not to be confused with Apples and Pears) or Megawords? I've personally used Apples with my son. It isn't babyish at all and is a great review. I've heard lots of good things about Megawords, but I've never personally used them.

kristin0713
I really like Soaring with Spelling which goes up to 8th grade. We started with LOE and my kids have a strong base in spelling so now it is just a matter of practicing more advanced words. SWS is very independent.
