Absolute favorite books for 3rd grade boy

Percy Jackson. Not the second series, but the first. The one beginning with the Lightning Thief. Percy is dyslexic too, only it is because he is really a demigod. Reading Ancient Greek is in his DNA, so English is difficult. He doesn't have ADD like they said, he just has God-like reflexes and this makes calming mself or his mind difficult.

Ds devoured these in 3rd grade. They fit with Ancients oretty fabulously too.

My 3rd grader was all about graphic novels when it came to reading on his own, although he did read the assigned chapter books.  For graphic novels, he loved Amulet, the Explorer series, the Percy Jackson graphic novel versions, Kid Beowulf, the Wizard of Oz graphic novels.

He also read the Catwings series by Ursula LeGuin, the Diary of a Wimpy Kid books, and some early Gordon Korman books on his own.
