Devices for e-books/websites?

DD's math class has only an e-book/web access code. She has a windows 7 notebook (for online classes done away from home) and at home has access to a Windows 8 desktop with dual monitors, printer, scanner etc.

Is she likely to need another devise to be able to access the textbook in class? Like a better cell phone or tablet? I'm from the era where I mostly had the textbook open and took notes based on what was in the lectures, highlighting the textbooks as needed.

Professors generally don't want laptops open during class, but generally you don't use the course website during lecture. I would wait and see what would be useful.

Daughter #1 used an iPad mini for accessing Canvas to do homework between classes. It got the job done and was easier to carry around than her laptop. Daughter #2 uses a phone and a small laptop.
