mirabillis
DS is in 9th grade, I think I've got the whole shebang planned out and have all my bases covered for all 15 A-G requirements... except US History. He's taking AP US Govt & AP US Macroecon - but he will still need at least a 0.5 credit of US History. I understand APUSH through PAH is much revered, but a heavy workload. We have History sequence open for 11th & 12th grade right now... but if for 11th grade, I need something light as we've planned a fairly heavy courseload with 3 APs already. He could do regular US History with SAT Subj test also, if that proves to be manageable, not too much workload. I know WTMA gets good marks for its regular US Hist course, as having an excellent teacher (not so much for its Advanced/AP counterpart) He could wait until Sr year when there'd be space for an APUSH or possible DE US Hist or otherwise, but would we really bother taking the AP exam in Sr year - and if not, then it wouldn't count toward A-G credit. Or would UC schools not care seeing he is IP on APUSH anyway? I thought I had all my bases covered and then cripes - I realized I had to shove AP Hist in there somewhere. Ay! Thoughts? MarkT
UC Scout APUSH? http://www.ucscout.org/courses/apushistory Typically Juniors take APUSH. Junior year is usually the hardest load-wise. My DS is taking four AP classes.
Roadrunner
You can selfstudy for SAT subject test in US history, and that will satisfy the UC requirement.
