mom2three
I just finished LOE with my 9 and 7 year old nephews. I am not sure what to do next. Any suggestions?
kaxy
I'm guessing 1st edition? You could do the 2nd edition, which has 3 levels of differentiated spelling and vocab ... or if you're comfortable with how they're spelling, maybe move on to other LA areas. Guest
We moved onto Treasured Conversations, which is everyone's new favorite program. I'm assuming you completed it through level C or D, or did Essentials to the end?
Soror
Ds used Essentials and moved onto Apples and Pears for spelling(LoE didn't work for him) and some of Webster's Speller and some other resources from Elizabeth's B. page for increasing fluency. Dd1 moved onto Treasured Conversations for writing and grammar and Apples & Pears spelling. It took her awhile to finish LoE, she wasn't ready to finish D until the 3rd grade. For reading, she has just moved onto real books. DD2(1st) is in D now and I've just started her on WWE. She's on track to finish D and WWE this year. Next year she will move onto WWE2 for writing, at this point, i don't think we'll do formal spelling as she is pretty natural with it. She'll do TC probably in 3rd grade. She seems to be catching onto reading well so i don't anticipate using anything formal with her, she will just be reading and listening to good books of increasing difficulty.
