dr. hive - need suggestions

dudeling was kind enough to share his virus with me.  :glare:  he was sick for two days. last week.  I've been sick since friday.

 

sinus congestion is minor - much like my normal due to allergies.  my lungs feel clear.  however, I can't take a deep breath without coughing.  if I'm on my side - I cough.  I'm taking sudafed because I feel like there is some minor drainage down into my lungs triggers coughing spasms.  and they're spasms probably don't last as long as they feel.  I'm pretty much not talking- 'cause coughing.  If I sit and don't do a lot, it can almost be ok.

breathing feels oppressive.  like when you're in a super humid environment and it's just hard to get the oxygen out of the air.

it had  totally killed my appetite for several days - which was concerning me, but it is starting to come back.

 

I've been taking robutussen - questionable about whether it is helping or not.

 

any suggestions about how to ease my breathing?

Antihistamine? At least at night.
