fairfarmhand Posted October 6, 2016 Share Posted October 6, 2016 I'm directing my drama group and I have one kid who is just struggling. I've acted his part, but I think it would help him to see a film or video of a similar character. The role is a police chief caricature. The chief is a braggart, know it all. He's big and blustery. And bossy and pushy. I can't for the life of me think of a similar character on television where I could say "Be this person." In the past, I've been able to come up with classic comedy similarities to help kids "see" their role. When they see someone else act it, suddenly it ignites their imagination and they really can figure out how to play it. Thoughts? Maybe I need to watch some Get Smart and find a character there.
