The most important thing is the thought process and the problem solving strategy. The right answer alone is worth maybe 5% of the grade, if not substantiated by the correct explanation of how the answer was arrived at. And in actual research, you don't know what the "right" answer is anyway - the more important thing is asking the "right" questions ;) That is what I would have guessed. I think this is also true in the humanities - sure there is a need for factual information but largely it is about thought process and also framing questions. Framing questions in a different way can change everything.
