Have you done this before? Did the stylist use foils, cap, hand-apply with a brush?

Did she use hair color, or bleach and toner?

How heavy is the highlighting? How different is it from her natural color?

There are a LOT of variables, and the number one rule to keep in mind is that the color on the box may not be what you end up with. Hair color isn't like house paint where you can slap on a coat of "buttercream white" and end up with buttercream white walls. It can be more like picking "Palest Swiss Blonde" and ending up with "Garish Nightmare Pumpkin Smear."

She used a cap and yes, I've helped another friend before.  She used color and it's was a pretty mild highlighting and not that much different than her normal hair.
