Pen
My old 2 zone Melnor timer broke and I am not sure what I should replace it with, or try to find a new version of the same thing. I need something that is battery operated due to being located remotely from alternating current sources. It should be pretty simple to use. Ideally it should have 4 zones it can control, but at least 2. It should not itself overly restrict water flow -- I think that was a problem with the Melnor, such that I had to run only 11 plants per each of its zones as it restricted water flow too much to be able to water all 22 that I wanted to water at the same time. I'd like to be able to add more area to the garden though so that there would be more than just 22 plants total being drip irrigated. Hence a 4 zone system to be able to do that would be helpful. Ms Brooks
I live off the grid and bought these twist timers for watering last summer. They worked great. I set them up with a manifold system of 4 hose bibs.
wheelhouse
AM Leonard has a nice guide on how to install drip irrigation. Definitely check out the section on timers -- there's a few battery powered options there. Hope that helps!
