lgliser
I know this is frequently asked but I wondered if anyone can recommend a great character building study that my husband could do with our 9 year olds. Thanks!
cintinative
Bible based?? I recommend this: http://www.kidsofintegrity.com/ There are at least 10 different character topics covered like: courage, generosity, perseverance, etc. All free.

AdventuresinHomeschooling
For some good literature, I recommend the Book of Virtues for Young People. Great stories to illustrate certain morals.
angelmama1209
i second kidsofintegrity.com. we just finished working our way through memorizing 1 Corinthians 13, using one character trait for each point, ie. love is patient- patience, love is kind- kindness, etc.
smarson
I agree with kidsofintegrity.com. Great site. There's another one that I can't recall right now... but if I remember I'll come back here to post. There's also the Child Training Bible or Virtue Bible (just google it). You build it yourself but then you can focus on a certain trait and verses in the Bible that pertain to that trait. My kids really like when I pull it out at breakfast time to go over a certain trait. It usually starts a discussion and they're hearing scripture too!
