J-rap Posted April 12, 2016 Posted April 12, 2016 We had a bunny hole in the middle of our backyard last year! It was kind of creepy, because there was our lawn with this weird hole right smack in the middle, and you could see the fuzz of the fur at the opening. I'm assuming the rabbits will try and use it again? I've just started seeing rabbits in our area again now that it's spring, and am thinking I should do something about it. Would I just try and fill it up with dirt? Put a little grating over it? Any ideas? Also, I assume none are down there yet since our winter just ended, but anyway I can be sure? I wouldn't want to trap any down there. Quote
Tenaj Posted April 12, 2016 Posted April 12, 2016 We had a similar hole in our front yard and for several years we had babies in it. After about 4 years they stopped being there and we missed them. No advice on covering or filling . . .we never tried. You can check by pulling the grass and fur covering back and just looking in. They usually aren't too deep in there, at least in our experience, we could always see the babies if we pulled back the covering. 1 Quote
G5052 Posted April 12, 2016 Posted April 12, 2016 We have about an acre of grass and get bunny nests frequently. They're nearly always shallow. If there are no babies, I just fill them in with dirt, otherwise they make holes in the lawn that people can step into. 1 Quote
