5knights3maidens
Dd is diagnosed with adhd/pdd, speech language Dis Nec (what is this??)..and the doctor said this is on the low spectrum of autism. She runs, talks, writes, etc... I am asking this because I took dd to the Y for the free swim class. Well, I goofed!!!:tongue_smilie: I had her in the class for children with mild physical and mental disabilities...(which costs $30.00 by the way;) ) Would she be under 'special needs'?? That is the free class on Tues/Thurs. I feel so stupid, I want to go hide under a rock and cry.
Michelle T
and it is an umbrella term that does cover the autism spectrum. Usually kids diagnosed as PDD have some symptoms of autism, but not enough to make a full diagnosis. It sounds like your ds has adhd with some mild autistic traits. My guy is the same. I'm not sure what the language problem is they are describing, it's an abbreviation that isn't familiar to me. Michelle T
JFSinIL
Have her in whichever class in which she can function and be successful.
